People Power multiplied by Traffic's Exponential Power

Today marks the 26th year celebration of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

There a lot of changes that happened, unfortunately some took a turn for the worse - including TRAFFIC. 

So if you have plans of going through the Metro today, take note of other events / commemorations taking place in the areas of Makati and Manila. These will definitely add to traffic build-up and road blockages aside from the one which will definitely happen in the Edsa Ortigas Route.

Read on so you can prepare your schedule and route from today til tomorrow. Stay happy and stress-free on the road! :)

1. Unveiling of the late Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin's statue

Affected Areas: Corner of P. Burgos Street and Roxas Boulevard, starting around 8 AM

Roads that will be Closed:  
*P. Burgos, from Roxas Boulevard to Lagusnilad;  
*Bonifacio Drive, from P. Burgos to 25th St; and  
*Ma. Orosa St, from T.M. Kalaw to P. Burgos

Intersections that will be Closed: 
*Taft Ave. and Finance St; 
*Lagusnilad and P. Burgos; 
*P. Burgos and Palacio; and 
*Anda Circle and Bonifacio Drive

Alternative Routes:
*Roxas Blvd. going Southbound: turn at Anda Circle to A. Soriano St. to Magallanes Dr.
*Roxas Blvd. going Northbound: from T.M. Kalaw St., turn left on South Drive, right on Independence Road, right on Katigbak Drive, left on southbound lane of Bonifacio Drive and counterflow up to 25th St. back to Bonifacio Drive's NB lane


2. Bourne U-Belt Shoot

Affected areas:  C.M. Recto Ave and Morayta St.

Roads that will be Closed today:  
*C.M. Recto, from Legarda to Morayta going to Avenida (from 5AM - 5PM)  

Roads that will be Closed tomorrow:  
 *Portion of Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., from V.Mapa to Pureza Sts.


3. Caracol Festival
[Caracol is a Spanish word for 'kuhol' or snail; the shell of a snail symbolizes protection from the harshness of life. This is a festival to celebrate mother nature, as we instill the value of her preservation.  If you happen to pass by during this occassion, you will see Makati schoolchildren garbed in colorful costumes, competing for best in dance/choreography and best in costume].


 Affected Areas:  Ayala Ave. and Makati Ave. (starting 10 PM today)

Roads that will be Closed today:  
*West-bound lane of Ayala Ave, from Makati Ave. to Paseo de Roxas (10 PM - 12 AM)
*South-bound lane of Makati Ave, from Paseo de Roxas to Ayala Ave (10 PM - 12 AM)

Roads that will be Closed tomorrow:  
*West-bound lane of Ayala Ave, from Makati Ave. to Paseo de Roxas (12 AM - 10 PM)
*South-bound lane of Makati Ave, from Paseo de Roxas to Ayala Ave (12 AM - 10 PM)
*North-bound lane of Paseo de Roxas., from Ayala Ave., to Makati Ave (1PM - 10 PM)
